Executive Director, Homelessness Rapid Response

As a valued employee in the Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works you will be part of a talented and dedicated team delivering a range of services that make a real difference to the lives of Queenslanders.

The role will have operational oversight for the frontline delivery of housing assistance and support services, currently delivered through four service delivery regions and over 21 geographically dispersed Housing Service Centres across Queensland as well as leading the delivery of programs and initiatives to improve collaboration, coordination, and delivery of support for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

You will Influence the strategic direction and support the department to provide housing and homelessness support services through direct service delivery and arrangements with funded service providers.

The role also has oversight of the operational partnerships and contracts with registered housing and homelessness assistance providers.  A key focus for the role will be to shape Housing Service Centre capability to deliver a sustainable and person-centred operating model.

The organisation is focussed on reframing the department’s relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations through the Path to Treaty, Closing the Gap as well as building our cultural capability and experience working with First Nations clientele will be highly regarded.

With these deliverables in mind, it is important the successful candidate has a strong knowledge and the sector and the interplay with the key stakeholder to deliver successful programs. A working knowledge of the interagency relationships required to continue to support these programs will be important.
