Job Description

In 1989, South Bank Corporation was established as the development and management authority and creative force behind South Bank, Brisbane's iconic riverfront destination. South Bank is one of Brisbane's favourite places. It is a place for everyone. It boasts much-loved riverfront parklands that are activated by retail and world-renowned cultural exhibition and education facilities that host around 14 million visitors a year. The Corporation's long-term Chief Financial Officer's (CFO) retirement creates an opportunity for suitably experienced candidates to be considered for this unique and exciting role.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO will lead the financial and corporate functions ensuring that the Corporation delivers on its strategic and operational objectives whilst looking for future opportunities for the organisation to continue its role in the fabric of Brisbane.  As CFO, you will also act as Company Secretary and work closely with the Board.  You will lead a cohesive team and work closely with the CEO to strategically analyse and model Master Plan objectives and outcomes, opportunities to increase social and economic impact and value, and position the organisation for sustainability.
South Bank Corporation has a unique triumvirate relationship with the Queensland State Government and Brisbane City Council. The CFO plays a crucial role in maintaining positive, productive and effective relationships – leading the reporting, performance analysis and related commercial management.
For this unique role, we are seeking an experienced CFO or similar level financial leader with strong commercial skills, company secretary experience, people leadership and relationship management capability and a strategic, growth mindset.  Experience working adjacently to government will be well regarded, as will experience in the property, precinct management or master-planned environments.  Importantly, you will be able to balance strategic priorities with ensuring the Corporation's finance and corporate operations are effective, responsive and provide required reporting and insights to stakeholders, including Board and government.
South Bank Corporation is offering an opportunity to work in Brisbane's most iconic location, a fantastic workplace culture where you will be empowered, stretched, and engaged in a variety of complex activities.  A competitive salary package is on offer.
To apply please provide your resume and a 1-2 page cover letter outlining your achievements and experience as relevant to the criteria outlined.  You can request an information pack or confidential discussion by emailing or by calling Courtney Chambers or Natasha Olsson-Seeto on 07 3305 5800.

Applications close Sunday, 27 June 2021.
