The Opportunity
This newly created role presents an opportunity to lead a transformation agenda that will significantly uplift QLeave’s organisational maturity. Alongside guiding the strategic direction of governance, risk and assurance, the Director will review and refine existing frameworks, design a fit-for-purpose operating model and establish a new enterprise assurance function. With a clear mandate to simplify processes, enhance reporting and strengthen organisational capability, this is a role with genuine scope to build a modern governance and assurance environment that positions QLeave for long-term success. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will shape organisational direction, partner closely with senior stakeholders and play a pivotal role in cultivating an enabling and collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities
You are a seasoned governance, risk and assurance professional with demonstrated experience in complex or regulated environments, ideally within government or a statutory authority. Your strategic and contemporary understanding of governance and risk allows you to design, simplify and refine frameworks that are practical and fit-for-purpose. Influential and credible, you build trust with executives, Boards and senior stakeholders, communicating with clarity and confidence. With strong judgement, a collaborative leadership style and the ability to thrive during transformation, you excel at shaping new capability and uplifting organisational maturity.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee QLeave’s enterprise-wide risk management framework, embed a proactive risk culture and ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and standards.
- Lead strategic and corporate planning, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements, government priorities and organisational performance expectations.
- Drive integrated planning and collaboration across business areas, overseeing controlled documents, records management and customer complaint frameworks.
- Oversee internal audit activity, strengthen governance effectiveness and establish a contemporary second-line enterprise assurance function.
- Lead business continuity and crisis management frameworks to enhance organisational resilience.
- Prepare high-quality insights, reports and briefings for the Executive Team, Board and Committees, while fostering capability and leadership within the Governance, Risk and Planning team.
