Job Description

The Executive Director, Engagement and Protocol is an exciting and unique opportunity to provide strategic direction and oversight for significant engagements on behalf of the Queensland Government. We are looking for an individual who has a strong professional work ethic and strategic agility to be able to deliver quality outcomes in a complex political environment.

As the lead central agency of the Queensland public service, we serve the Premier and Cabinet, build confidence in and drive an innovative government, while providing whole-of-government leadership to deliver outstanding results and value for money for the people of Queensland. Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, Strategy and Engagement, you will provide high level leadership and direction to two complementary teams - ‘Events and Engagement' and ‘Protocol and International Engagement'.

In this important role, your leadership will ensure best practice for the delivery of official government functions, state ceremonial occasions, official visits to Queensland by prominent international dignitaries, including Heads of Government/State and overseas trade missions leveraged to create opportunities for Queensland. The role is also responsible for the development and delivery of events, programs and activities throughout Queensland including the sponsoring of events that deliver economic benefits to the State.
