Job Description

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) is a member-based organisation that determines and upholds the education standards that define and govern competent, unsupervised general practice in the rural and remote context.   The ACRRM education standards define the knowledge and skills doctors require to practice safely and competently particularly in a rural and remote environment.

The College delivers a comprehensive accredited training and assessment program leading to the award of Fellowship of ACRRM.  This award allows graduates to work in general practice anywhere in Australia.  ACRRM also provides a continuing professional development program so that members can continue to certify and build on their skills. 

The position of Fellowship Program Manager supports the General Manager Education Services to drive performance, delivery and management of ACRRM’s Fellowship Program ensuring the team delivers on its objectives in line with contractual requirements as well as the strategic direction of ACRRM as a whole.

This role is responsible for building and sustaining a high-performance team, supporting staff to deliver member and community objectives and role modelling the behaviours that underpin a high-performance focused culture.
Responsibilities also include providing robust, well researched and timely advice and support to the General Manager Education Services and its committees specifically regarding contract management and the implementation, management, evaluation and quality improvement of the National Fellowship Program.  Key areas of responsibility include:

This is a unique opportunity for candidates who possess the following experience and knowledge:

  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in leadership, strategy, budgeting and management
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery and/or governance of medical education or training programs including a strong understanding of training pedagogy and learning systems
  • A track record of successful change management of complex or significant programs of work
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in stakeholder management, client support and service management
  • Management of external service providers, contract and project management including risk assessment and contract negotiation
  • Previous experience planning, managing and delivering methodologies for measurement and evaluation of training programs and projects
  • Financial management including research and analysis, reporting, budgeting and grants management
  • Risk management including compliance with legislation, and regulatory and financial requirements

Preferably you will have postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline, experience in online teaching and learning technology, GP Training delivery and evaluation, experience in organisations undergoing regional growth or significant change.  An understanding of the medical education environment within a rural context would be ideal.
