QLeave operates within a Board governance framework and the three Boards provide the financial expertise necessary to ensure the longevity of the schemes and they include employer and employee representatives. QLeave also collects a work health and safety levy and a building and construction industry training fund levy and passes this on to the relevant entities responsible for these functions.
OnTalent is delighted to partner with the QLeave Boards to recruit the role of General Manager. This unique position works within the portfolio of the Minister for Education, Minister for Industrial Relations and Minister for Racing. The role also works closely with the Director-General, Department of Education as well as the Board of Directors with respect to each of the portable long service leave schemes.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the schemes are effectively and efficiently administered in accordance with the Building and Construction Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 1991, the Contract Cleaning Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2005 and the Community Services Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2020, and associated regulations.
Key deliverables will be to drive all aspects of QLeave’s financial and commercial strategy, implement organisational change and engagement strategies, manage the business operations, enhance the team culture and lead strategic direction and continuous improvement.
We are seeking candidates who have demonstrated a successful track record as a senior executive in leading and transforming the financial and commercial strategy of a complex organisation. You will be a values based leader, an agent of cultural change and have the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across government, industry associations, unions and the business sector.
Previous experience working within the building and construction industry, contract cleaning industry or community services industry would be highly desirable. Experience in a membership based organisation or financial services would be beneficial as well as senior stakeholder engagement and management. At a minimum, candidates will possess an undergraduate qualification in accountancy, commerce or business management.
The classification of this position is SES3L and the role is located in Brisbane.
