The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will have significant responsibility to assist in shaping the direction of the business and operate in an environment which requires independent decision making.  You will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of plant, pump and reticulation operations and maintenance activities on water and sewerage assets as well as responsibility for water and sewage optimisation, overall management of the operations control centre and trade waste services to customers. 

Pivotal to this role is leading an empowered Service Delivery Division which is accountable for forecasting, planning and delivering operations and maintenance work that meet desired customer outcomes and regulatory requirements.  You will also ensure achievement of financial and commercial business outcomes that are aligned with strategic planning processes, both short and long term.

You are committed to the successful functioning of the executive leadership team and demonstrate a collaborative and constructive leadership style. 

Your application must clearly demonstrate:


  • Significant experience in safety leadership and change management
  • Management of operations and maintenance programs in an infrastructure-based industry,
  • Demonstrated people management experience, in particular managing a large and geographically dispersed team of employees
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and a strong verbal and written ability
  • Familiarity with a unionised workforce and active employee representatives
  • A strong understanding of asset management processes
  • Proven success in risk and compliance management and its application in a complex business
  • Demonstrated commercial and business focus
  • Previous experience in the water industry is preferred
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing or equivalent competency
  • C class drivers licence

Located in picturesque Tasmania, this role will involve regular intrastate travel and you choose your base either Launceston, Devonport or Hobart, the choice is yours.
