After eleven years, the Group Financial Controller is retiring which presents an exciting opportunity for someone to join this long standing and progressive values-driven organisation.

Located at Head Office in Launceston, Tasmania and reporting to the CFO, who is engaged on a part-time basis, the role of Group Financial Controller is responsible for managing the company’s day to day finance operations including overseeing payroll (150+ employees), debtors/creditors, statutory reporting and asset management.  You will provide accurate and timely financial reports and manage internal controls and procedures working across all functions of the business. 

Ideally, we are seeking five years’ experience in a similar role and formal qualifications of either CA, CPA or MBA with demonstrated accounting experience in a highly commercial environment. You will have strong analytical skills, good IT business systems knowledge and promote continuous improvement initiatives.  Exposure to the civil construction, commercial building, construction materials, mining or heavy industry sectors is preferred. 

Leading a small finance and administration team, this role requires you to multi-task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.  Experience in management accounting and providing analytical and profit & loss support to internal stakeholders is highly desirable.

You will require advanced skills with MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook.  Knowledge and experience with Attaché is desirable.
