Job Description

The Human Resources Manager proactively contributes to the companies desired business outcomes by demonstrating a business partner approach in delivering HR through understanding business needs. 
 
This will be a role that will offer both tactical as well as strategic direction for the company. It will support local as well as a smaller overseas based operation.
 
A true hands on role at a Senior Human Resources Business Partner level will be pivotal in supporting the business.
 
In providing HR services, the Human Resources Manager must ensure compliance with local employment laws and workplace policies.
 
From an operational and delivery perspective, the Human Resources Manager will:

 

  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative business partner relationships with leaders and colleagues across the organisation, and through these partnerships, deliver HR solutions that support business needs.
  • Manage end to end recruitment activities including draft or review position descriptions, source candidates, co-ordinate interviews, compile employment contracts.
  • Onboard new employees, including new starter documentation and liaise with line managers regarding onboarding. Co-ordinate induction programs and probationary reviews.
  • In consultation with Legal Counsel, guide and support managers and employees in resolving disciplinary and performance-related issues.
  • In consultation with managers, co-ordinate yearly performance management program and salary review cycle.
  • Ensure that verbal and written advice provided to stakeholders is consistent and compliant with relevant legislation. Stay abreast of changes to employment legislation and update the business accordingly.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR policies and procedures, advise managers and employees in the application of these.
  • In consultation with managers, co-ordinate training and development programs.
  • Develop and implement a regular internal communications strategy, sharing information on topics of interest. Regularly update the intranet’s HR portal and LinkedIn pages with topical subjects.
  • Partner with Facilities department to develop and implement a Health & Safety program. Manage workplace injuries and return to work plans. 
  • Co-ordinate international relocations including liaising with Immigration legal representatives for visa sponsorships.
  • Contribute to building an organisational culture that values open and honest communication.
To be successful in this role you will have experience as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner/Human Resources Manager role within a similar company. You will have experience across the following:
  • Bachelor degree qualified, preferably in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with varying levels of priority and urgency.
  • Strong knowledge of Australia’s Fair Work legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
  • Well-developed knowledge of contemporary HR issues and approaches.
  • Support efforts to develop and continuously improve human resources procedures and processes in an effort to maximise efficiencies and outcomes.
  • Comply with the company’s policies and procedures, including all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Take all reasonable care that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others.
  • Perform work in line with budget constraints and in a cost-effective manner, minimising waste.
  • Continuously identify and help correct sources of inefficiency.
  • An approach with internal relationships that fosters a culture of collaboration, advisory and mutual respect.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong, hands-on autonomous, individual and proactive contributor.
