The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) is a member-based organisation that determines and upholds the education standards that define and govern competent, unsupervised general practice in the rural and remote context. The ACRRM education standards define the knowledge and skills doctors require to practice safely and competently particularly in a rural and remote environment.
The College delivers a comprehensive accredited training and assessment program leading to the award of Fellowship of ACRRM. This award allows graduates to work in general practice anywhere in Australia. ACRRM also provides a continuing professional development program so that members can continue to certify and build on their skills.
This newly created position will work with and support the Chief Executive Officer as a valued strategic contributor to the ACRRM Leadership Team. This role will provide high level, expert operational and strategic human resources advice, support and coaching that delivers clear business benefits and outcomes. This includes building and sustaining high performing teams, supporting staff to deliver member and community objectives and role modelling the behaviours that underpin a high-performance focused culture. It will positively influence and guide the development and delivery of plans integrating business group goals and human resources strategies.

This role will require a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a senior HR position and a strong understanding and working knowledge of Australian Workplace legislation and regulations. Paramount is the ability to engage, partner and influence managers using advanced consultation skills as well as sound judgement and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times. You will preferably possess formal qualifications in human resource management, psychology, business (or a related discipline). Experience in organisations undergoing regional growth or significant change and an understanding of the medical education environment within a rural context would be ideal.
This is a broad and generalist HR management position which has been created due to a change in the organisation’s structure. Design and implementation of HR processes and procedures along with the ability to guide and provide support to senior managers will be an initial focus.
