Job Description
We are seeking interest from suitably qualified candidates to lead the Marketing and Events functions for Logan City Council. To be considered you will have achieved a successful career history that encompasses the development and implementation of short, medium and long-term marketing and events strategies.
You will have a demonstrated track record in delivering tangible outcomes across digital, social media, strategy, design and branding disciplines and will bring creative ideas on how to use digital and traditional marketing methods to drive a new narrative for this city. You have a proven political acumen and the ability to influence through the provision of sound, well considered, strategic advice at the political and senior management level. Familiarity and understanding of community engagement and customer experience strategies and proven success in complex stakeholder management is paramount. A passion for sustainability, championing inclusion and celebrating diversity would be well regarded.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic leadership and providing guidance to the Mayor, elected representatives, Chief Executive Officer, Director-Community Services and other members of Council’s leadership team on marketing and event management initiatives

- Develop and/or implement existing marketing and events strategies that reflect Logan City Council’s position and capabilities as one of the largest and fastest growing local government areas in Australia
- Develop, enhance and implement relevant strategies, processes and policies
- Deliver efficient and effective management of human and financial resources to ensure productive outcomes and strong people leadership
- Develop partnerships with the Logan community and other external stakeholders to foster engagement, relationships and co-operation
- Drive a new narrative for Logan including branding work already in progress
- Proactively seek out and apply for external funding opportunities to help deliver the vision of the city
- Demonstrated project management experience to successfully plan, prioritise, make decisions, manage budgets, meet deadlines and manage resources

Formal qualifications in marketing and or communications is preferred, or equivalent knowledge gained through extensive experience.
