Formed in 1885, the QHA’s efforts and influence are directed to promoting and supporting the interests of its members, and to assist members to run and develop effective and profitable hotel businesses. It also provides a range of services to members and stakeholders including industry training, providing advice on employment relations, workplace health and safety, liquor licensing and gaming issues.
OnTalent is delighted to partner with the QHA to recruit the position of Membership Officer – Accommodation. This role reports to the Accommodation Division Manager and is responsible for all activities associated with accommodation membership promotion, retention, enquiries and on-the-ground liaison. In this role you will act as a front-line face of the QHA when direct assistance is required with members and non-members as well as assisting in planning and arranging QHA events. You will contribute written material for newsletters, publications, magazines and the QHA website, assist the communications team in planning the QHA’s annual calendar of member events and liaise with other state branches of the AHA, State Government agencies and other industry stakeholders when required.
To be considered we are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented, outgoing and experienced membership or customer retention specialist. You will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, have the ability to research current trends, respond to industry demands and can adhere to strict deadlines. Experience working within the licensed accommodation industry in Queensland is beneficial as is the ability to work independently and without supervision.
This is a fabulous opportunity for a people person, someone who enjoys public speaking and presenting information possibly in a teaching, instructional or business environment. You thrive on customer service and will have previous experience in a role that requires interaction with partnership agreements, sponsorship or contract negotiations. You are receptive to travelling to local and regional Queensland destinations on a regular basis and possess a current Australian Drivers’ License.
