This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with a focus on growth in both its key areas as well as exploration into new and emerging markets. Due to the geographically dispersed locations of their facilities and teams this role can be based anywhere near a major airport however New South Wales would be ideal.

The Project Engineer will develop in-house project management for the ongoing capital plan for the next 5-10 years. This role is critical to cost control and keeping intellectual property in-house. The role will also assist (outside of capital projects) with existing asset condition monitoring and recommendations in New Zealand and Australia.
  
Key deliverables will include:

  • Work with Capital lead, Operational Teams, External consultants, supplier and local government to deliver clear direction and outcomes to all stakeholders.
  • Deliver feedback on Project implementation and progress.
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned development projects.
  • Monitor and report on cost performance against approved budget.
  • Develop Performance standards and technical capability assessments of both new capital and existing assets.
  • Develop and implement environmental sustainability practices to minimise the environmental impact of engineering projects.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.  Monitor and report as required.
  • Provide  development documents and operating instructions for new installations.
  • Develop and implement asset management framework to ensure the longevity and reliability of equipment and systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of assets to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to address any issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
Skills, experience and personal attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Systems.
  • Proven working experience as a Project Engineer.
  • Experience of multiple million $ capital projects covering – capital works, equipment/systems and some civil.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD.
  • Experience in the specification, scoping and introduction of a range of PLC/SCADA, Automation and Robotic based solutions into plant modernisation/upgrades.
  • Industry background from – FMCG, Agricultural automation/manufacturing Food manufacturing, Industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Project management capability – use of project planning and management tools.
Regular travel through ANZ will be required in support of this role and capital project delivery. A market leading salary package and incentive will be offered for the successful candidate.
