Job Description
From an operational and delivery perspective, the Embedded Software Support Engineer will:
- Instrumental in defining and executing an innovative software product release engineering strategy
- Identifying and implementing leading edge tools and processes to streamline our CI/CD and DevOps process
- Provide creative solutions when dealing with technology challenges
- Create, improve, and maintain the build and release environment, tools, and processes necessary to improve the software development process and quality, safety, and security of our products
- Manage day-to-day tool infrastructure, including tools and systems, troubleshooting issues and identification of resources needed to resolve problems
- Participate as an active team member in all aspects of the software development life cycle
- Collaborate with the cross functional team to deliver high quality products
- BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree
- Experience in software engineering, release engineering, and/or configuration management.
- Strong familiarity with software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems, Git (Github/BitBucket/etc)
- Experience with BitBucket Pipelines, Azure DevOps, Jenkins and other CI and CD tools
- Experience in automating the release and build processe
- Experience with configuration deployment tools like Ansible and Terraform
- Familiarity with Agile development processes and DevOps environments
- Strong scripting or programming knowledges – Shell, Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash etc
- Experience in an end to end automation environment UAT, PRE PROD etc
- Experience in the use of Cloud based technologies
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Stay current with state-of-the-art technologies, tools and techniques for automation, quality, and security as applied to software development
- Document designs, processes and procedures
- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication, negotiation and project management skills
- Ability to consistently work to a high standard with minimal supervision; self-motivated
