Job Description
This varied role with encompass the following three elements:
Strategy and Policy Development
Review and provide advice on Park Branch strategies and plans, ensuring these are evidenced based.
Planning
Undertake research and provide input to consultation with customers and our local community for the planning and improvement of the City’s parks and open spaces.
Technical
Ensure the integrity of Parks Branch databases (including updating GIS and Parks Network Map), such that they are maintained and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Suitable candidates will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a planning role within a local government environment, and be able to demonstrate an understanding of open space management. Previous experience interpreting and acting upon legislative and policy changes as they occur is also essential, as is a degree in a relevant subject (Town / Urban / Environmental Planning etc). Knowledge and proficiency in Excel and GIS systems would be highly desirable.
