Driving Queensland's Global Future!
Trade and Investment Queensland
Queensland is open for business – and Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) is at the centre of that story.
As Queensland’s global business agency, TIQ drives trade, investment and international engagement outcomes that strengthen the state’s economy and position Queensland on the world stage. With 27 international offices, further expansion underway, and a Queensland-wide network, TIQ plays a critical role in advancing export growth, attracting global investment and strengthening international partnerships.

About the Role
An exceptional opportunity now exists for an accomplished executive leader to join TIQ as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO). Reporting directly to the CEO, the DCEO is the organisation’s trusted second-in-command, responsible for ensuring TIQ operates with discipline, agility and strong delivery capability across its domestic and international operations.
This is a pivotal executive leadership role spanning enterprise leadership, organisational performance and strategic engagement. The successful appointee will lead TIQ’s corporate and operational functions across finance, governance, people, ICT, risk, legal, strategy and performance, while helping drive alignment across government priorities, organisational capability and strategic delivery.
Working closely with the CEO, Board and senior government stakeholders, the DCEO will help strengthen enterprise leadership across a highly visible and globally connected organisation. The role will also support Queensland’s broader trade and investment agenda by enabling effective coordination, governance and performance across TIQ’s international network and strategic priorities.
About You
The successful candidate will be a highly credible senior executive with demonstrated experience operating in complex, international environments. You will be recognised for your ability to navigate complexity, build trusted executive relationships and lead organisational performance in fast-paced environments.
You will bring proven capability leading large corporate and operational portfolios within government, economic development, investment, trade or internationally focused organisations. Experience engaging with boards, senior stakeholders and cross-jurisdictional partners will be highly regarded, as will international exposure or experience across globally connected operations.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape Queensland’s global engagement agenda and play a key leadership role within one of Queensland’s most internationally connected organisations.
Applications should include a current resume and cover letter outlining your interest and suitability for the role. Previous applicants from earlier recruitment processes may be reconsidered.
