The Community Housing Industry Association of Queensland (CHIA Queensland) is the industry peak body for community housing providers in the State. Its members own or manage a $3 billion portfolio of 11,000 social and affordable rental homes across the State.
The housing crisis continues to impact individuals and families in communities across Queensland. There is a commitment from Government to increase supply across all parts of the housing including an ambitious plan for 53, 500 new social homes over the next 20 years.
The community housing industry is poised for growth. Community housing providers rely on CHIA Queensland to engage with, influence and lead government in the design of solutions to increase the supply of social and affordable housing and build a robust, sustainable industry.
The Chief Executive Officer works with a high level of autonomy in the execution of strategy set in partnership with the Board. The Board is made up of elected member representatives and has an Independent Chair. As a small organisation, the Executive Officer will be able to master the art of leveraging collaboration and partnerships with members and other stakeholders to achieve results.
As a member-based organisation, the core role of the CEO is to engage and understand member needs and exercise influence across all stakeholders to take advantage of opportunities presented to the sector during this time of growth. The key to success here is the strength of relationships at all levels, and the ability to develop sound, practical and evidence-based advice and policy.

The role is offered on a full-time, fixed term basis through to June 2026. The success of the incumbent in securing the next 5 year funding agreement will ensure ongoing employment.
