The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to step into a senior advisory leadership role within the Department of Education, working on complex, high-impact initiatives that improve how the system operates and delivers outcomes.
As Director, Business Solutions and Advice, you will lead a small, capable team delivering financial insight, business improvement and strategic advisory services across the Department. The work is varied, often ambiguous and requires both structured thinking and practical delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading advisory engagements from problem definition through to implementation
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to assess performance and identify opportunities
• Overseeing financial analysis, modelling and reporting
• Managing multiple workstreams and delivering high-quality outcomes
• Building team capability and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment

What You Bring

• Experience in consulting, advisory, audit or business improvement
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
• Ability to operate in complex environments with competing priorities
• A track record of delivering practical outcomes
• Leadership experience, including developing team.
• Government experience is valued but not essential.
