The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. This role will support financial reporting activities, including month-end processes, and partner closely with senior stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely insights.
You will be a proactive and detail-oriented accounting professional, contributing to core financial operations while assisting with analysis, reporting, and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and inventory adjustments
- Review general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy across business units
- Deliver reporting within required timelines, including variance analysis (actual vs budget)
- Maintain integrity of financial data in line with internal policies and procedures
- Prepare and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
- Partner with stakeholders to understand financial performance drivers and provide insights
- Support audit processes, including preparation of workpapers and reconciliations
- Assist with account reconciliations and commission calculations as required
- Develop an understanding of group reporting structures and financial systems
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business needs
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Experience in a commercial accounting or analyst role
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with high attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reporting)
- Experience with journals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Ability to work collaboratively and meet tight deadlines
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar)
- Knowledge of revenue recognition and lease accounting standards
- Exposure to financial reporting tools (e.g. SAP BPC or similar)
