Senior Appeals Coordinator

Permanent

Bring your fundraising expertise to Rosies and take ownership of an appeals program with strong foundation, genuine purpose & real opportunity to grow

  • Take end-to-end ownership of Rosies' fundraising appeals program
  • Bring fresh ideas, contemporary practice & help shape its next stage of growth
  • Work close to the impact, connecting real stories with those who support Rosies
OnTalent is proud to be partnering with Rosies – Friends on the Street to appoint a Senior Appeals Coordinator, a newly created role leading the planning and delivery of Rosies’ fundraising appeals program.

For almost 40 years, Rosies has reached out to people experiencing homelessness, disadvantage and social isolation, offering friendship, connection and a sense of belonging. Today, volunteers across Queensland continue to create safe, welcoming spaces built on dignity, inclusion and shared humanity.
Fundraising plays an important role in making that work possible.

This opportunity will suit an experienced fundraiser who wants to take genuine ownership of an established appeals program, bring new ideas and contemporary practice, and work close enough to see the impact their work helps create.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will take end-to-end responsibility for Rosies’ fundraising appeals across direct mail, email and digital channels.
There are established campaigns and an engaged supporter base to build from, alongside a genuine opportunity to strengthen and evolve the program. You will have the autonomy to bring your experience and ideas to the role, while working closely with a supportive Head of Fundraising and a small, collaborative team.
The role includes:
  • Leading the planning, coordination and delivery of Rosies’ fundraising appeals
  • Developing campaign plans, budgets, timelines and deliverables
  • Growing donor acquisition, retention and long-term supporter engagement
  • Developing meaningful donor journeys and communications
  • Using data, segmentation and campaign insights to strengthen performance
  • Sourcing and shaping authentic stories that demonstrate the impact of Rosies’ work
  • Engaging respectfully with patrons, volunteers and staff to bring those stories to life
  • Coordinating external agencies, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Monitoring campaign performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You will be trusted to manage the detail, make recommendations and follow things through, while having the support and collaboration of the broader team.
You will also have the opportunity to experience Rosies’ work firsthand. By spending time with outreach teams and building relationships across the volunteer community, you will develop a genuine understanding of Rosies’ work and the people at the heart of it.

About You
You are an experienced fundraiser who understands both the discipline and the human connection behind successful fundraising.
You can take an appeal from an initial idea through to delivery and evaluation. You know how to bring together storytelling, donor insight, data and strong execution, and you are confident taking responsibility for outcomes.
Importantly, you understand that every story belongs to a person. You approach storytelling with care, respect and sensitivity, while recognising its ability to build meaningful connections between Rosies and its supporters.
You bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, ideally within the not-for-profit sector
  • Experience planning and delivering fundraising appeals across direct mail and/or digital channels
  • Strong fundraising copywriting and storytelling capability
  • An understanding of donor acquisition, retention and supporter journeys
  • Strong campaign and project management skills
  • Confidence using donor data, segmentation and campaign performance insights
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail and follow-through
  • The ability to build genuine relationships across a diverse stakeholder community
  • The confidence to work autonomously while contributing to a close-knit team
Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Mailchimp and Funraisin would be beneficial, along with an understanding of ethical and trauma-informed storytelling.

Why Join Rosies
There are few fundraising roles where the connection between your work and its impact is quite this visible.
At Rosies, an appeal is not simply a campaign on a calendar. It helps enable volunteers to continue showing up, outreach vans to reach communities and Rosies to remain present for people experiencing homelessness, loneliness and social isolation.
You will join a small, close-knit team where your contribution will be seen and valued. You will have strong foundations to build from, the support of an experienced Head of Fundraising, and genuine scope to bring your own expertise, ideas and contemporary fundraising practice to the program.

For someone who has built their fundraising capability and is ready for greater ownership, this is an opportunity to shape something meaningful. You will be close enough to the organisation to understand the stories behind the work, trusted enough to influence how those stories are shared, and accountable for growing the supporter relationships that help Rosies continue its mission.
It is a role with purpose, but also real professional opportunity: to take ownership, improve practice, build on what is working and leave a visible mark on an important fundraising program.

Rosies is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. Applications are encouraged from people of all backgrounds, experiences and identities who share Rosies’ commitment to dignity, respect and community.
