About Wilmar Sugar and Renewables
Wilmar Sugar and Renewables is Australia's largest manufacturer and exporter of raw sugar and a leading producer of renewable energy and bioethanol. Part of Wilmar International, this is a complex and geographically dispersed business operating eight sugar factories, an ethanol distillery, renewable electricity assets, extensive rail infrastructure and agricultural operations across Queensland with ethanol blending and packaging facilities in Melbourne. The Opportunity
Based in Townsville and reporting directly to the Head of Sugar and Renewables, you will lead the development and execution of a workforce strategy that supports operational excellence, organisational capability and long-term business performance.

Leading a team of six direct reports with over 30 People and Culture professionals in total, you will partner closely with executive leaders to drive workforce planning, industrial relations, leadership capability, organisational design and cultural transformation.

Key responsibilities include
• Align workforce capability, capacity and performance with business objectives and future growth plans.
• Leading workforce planning, talent acquisition, succession planning and retention initiatives.
• Driving industrial relations, enterprise bargaining and employee relations outcomes.
• Leading organisational change and culture transformation programs.
• Providing strategic advice to executive leaders on workforce and organisational matters.
• Building capability across leaders, teams and the broader organisation.

About You
You are a strategic and commercially minded People and Culture executive with experience leading large, operationally intensive and industrial workforces.
You understand the critical role an exceptional people and culture function plays in delivering strategy.

You know what it means to deliver an exceptional employee experience, you bring industrial relations expertise, a track record of leading organisational transformation, and the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders to achieve strategic and operational business outcomes.

Experience
• Around 10 years or more experience in senior people and culture leadership roles as an ELT member, contributing to strategy and execution.
• Proven industrial relations and enterprise bargaining experience.
• Experience leading large and geographically dispersed workforces.
• Demonstrated success delivering workforce strategy and organisational change.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and executive influencing capability.
• Experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, agribusiness, resources, transport, energy or similar industrial sectors.
• Exposure to seasonal workforces and regional operating environments (highly desirable).
