Welcoming Kym Nelson, Senior Client Partner – Careers, Leadership Development & Consulting

We’re pleased to announce that OnTalent has welcomed Kym Nelson as Senior Client Partner – Careers, Leadership Development & Consulting. Kym joins our team with over 15 years of experience leading recruitment teams consulting to the public, corporate and community sectors. Her role will see her deliver positive, critical outcomes to achieve business goals.

Kym is an HR leader with extensive experience in driving performance and process outcomes that add commercial and cultural value. She is passionate about people and directing organisational growth through effective performance, accountability, and cultural transformation.

Kym originally relocated to Queensland to lead strategic partnerships’ growth for a talent advisory firm. Prior, she was the General Manager of People and Culture with an organisation that has global presence, targeting unskilled youth to unpack and pack shipping containers. During her tenure, the company grew from 300 employees with an annual turnover of $30 million to 1,200 employees with a turnover of $90 million.

Kym completed an Advanced Leadership Program at Women & Leadership Australia (WLA) and has partly completed a Masters in Human Resources at Southern Cross University.

Kym’s role sees her partnering with organisations to achieve alignment between HR objectives and wider business goals, build organisational and workforce capabilities, and collaboratively design and execute business/HR strategies to deliver critical outcomes.

Kym brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, and we’re thrilled to have her propel us into our exciting, new direction.

Fun Facts about Kym:

  • She loves running and generally runs a marathon once a year. Her favourite marathons are overseas – completing the Great Wall of China, Bali & New York marathons so far.
  • Thinking it would improve her running, she started drinking coffee at 40. She’s now also addicted to coffee!
  • Kym’s additional hobbies include: Water skiing and bushwalking; plus, nobody escapes a visit to her house without a positive intention card reading and meditation session with her Tibetan singing bowls.
